At edge co-working, we love our members & event hosts sooooooo much! There’s nothing better than getting to know the amazing women and men who have decided to join our tribe of career-minded military spouses.
This month’s featured event host is Andrea Corpening, owner of Career Prep Services. Join us February 21st as she hosts a special Valentine-themed training for managers, "How To Love Your Employees."
Her session will cover how to identify different communication styles, handling difficult conversations, and how to boost employee morale. Learn more about this great event & get tickets right here.
Tell us about your job. (Who do you work for & what do you do for them?)
I currently have two jobs: 1) I work for the AFX Group/GBX Consultants, so I teach the Department of Labor Employment Workshop that covers resume writing, job interview skills, and other transition skills to military service members at Cannon Air Force Base. 2) I have recently started my own company to work with business owners and individuals to help them make more money. I help businesses by increasing their employee engagement and reducing turnover by maximizing the talent and skills of their employees. I do this by creating customized training programs in the areas of customer service, sales, new employee training, and professional development to help employees perform better and make their companies successful. What is your biggest work from home challenge?
The chores always win. [Editor's note: this answer was chosen from our list.]
What is your biggest business challenge?
My biggest challenge is being a new business owner. Starting a new business can very hard, time consuming, and expensive. I am working hard to market my business, build relationships with other business owners, and show the value that I can bring to their companies. I have to remind myself to trust the process and know that my business will take off if I stay the course.
Why did you decide to host an event at edge co-working?
Before moving to Clovis, I have offered several seminars and trainings in my local community to help people that did not have professional development opportunities available to them. I would like to do the same here in Clovis. The ladies at edge have been wonderful to work with and have an amazing location that is great for hosting events.
What'd you do last weekend?
I had the “Clovis” sinus bug. I am thankful that it was not the flu, but it did keep me in the house all weekend.
What's favorite productivity tool?
I can’t live without my Google Calendar! It helps organize my life and keep me on schedule.
Last song played? (no judgement)
Finesse by Bruno Mars [editor's note: we dig it!]
Where are you from?
I consider the Destin, Florida area as home.
Where would you like to retire one day?
I would love to retire somewhere warm, like Hawaii or parts of Florida.
